# Connect Google Calendar

Connect an account to see upcoming meetings from its main Google calendar.
Recordstead reads events without changing them. Calendar events do not start
a recording; [Call Detection](https://docs.recordstead.app/recording/call-detection) is a separate choice.

## Connect an account

1. Open Settings (⌘,) › **Calendar** and click **Connect**.
2. In your browser, choose your Google account and allow read-only calendar access.
3. Return to Recordstead. The account appears in Settings, and Home's **Next**
card shows the next eligible meeting in the active workspace.

Use **Add Account…** to connect another account. Each connection can have its
own [workspaces](https://docs.recordstead.app/calendar/choose-workspaces).

For a recurring meeting, **Open Last Time** opens an earlier recording matched
to the same calendar event in this workspace, when one is available.

## If the meeting is missing

Check that the event is in the account's main calendar. All-day events,
canceled events and invitations you declined are excluded. Also check the
account's [workspace selection](https://docs.recordstead.app/calendar/choose-workspaces).

If Google cannot be reached, Recordstead may show the last events it read;
the connection status tells you when the information is stale.

## Sign in again

If the account asks for **Reconnect**, click it and finish signing in in your
browser. If **Choose Workspaces** appears, select the intended spaces or
explicitly choose **All Workspaces**, then click **Reconnect**.

This extra choice appears when you signed in to a different account or
Recordstead could not confirm the same account. **Cancel** keeps the previous
connection. A repeated sign-in can leave separate connection rows; use
[Remove from This Mac](https://docs.recordstead.app/calendar/disconnect-google-calendar) for an unwanted row.
