# Disconnect Google Calendar

To stop reading a calendar, remove its connection in Settings. Your recorded
meetings stay in Recordstead. Choose whether to remove only the local connection
or also revoke its access at Google.

## Remove only from this Mac

Use this for an unwanted duplicate connection, or when you want other
connections for the same Google account to keep working.

1. Open Settings (⌘,) › **Calendar**.
2. Open the account's ellipsis (…) menu and choose **Remove from This Mac**.
3. Confirm **Remove from This Mac**.

The row disappears and Recordstead stops reading through that connection.
Google's access permission and your other connections remain unchanged.

## Revoke Google access too

**Google may also disconnect other connections for the same Google account.**
They can require you to sign in again, including on another Mac.

1. In Settings › **Calendar**, click **Disconnect** for the account.
2. Read the confirmation and click **Disconnect** again.

Recordstead removes the local connection and asks Google to revoke access.
If it cannot reach Google to finish revoking access, click **Open Google
Account** below the status message and remove Recordstead's access there.

If Recordstead reports that it could not remove the connection from this Mac,
the connection remains. Retry the action; the error is not a successful removal.

To use the calendar again, [connect the account](https://docs.recordstead.app/calendar/connect-google-calendar).
