# Fix speakers who were merged or split

Open a meeting's actions menu and choose **Edit speakers…**. While a meeting
is waiting for your first review, use that review window instead. The recording
must still be available to play the samples you need for this task.

## Two rows are one person

When Recordstead flags two similar voices, play both rows. Choose **Same
Person** to merge them, or **Different People** to dismiss the suggestion.
Recordstead does not merge voices automatically.

## One row contains two people

1. On a row whose samples sound different, choose **Samples Are from Different
   People…**. The action appears only when the row has multiple samples.
2. Play each sample and mark it **Speaker A**, **Speaker B** or **Not sure**.
3. Assign at least one sample to each person, then click **Separate into Two
   Speakers**. Name the resulting rows.


On a finished meeting, click **Save changes** when you are done. The transcript
uses the corrected speaker names. If a summary already exists, update it from
the meeting's actions menu so it uses those names too.
