# Stop automatic recording for one app

Call Detection responds to any app using the microphone, even one you use for
voice messages rather than meetings. You can exclude that app after it starts
an automatic recording.

:::caution[The current recording is discarded]
**Stop & Ignore** ends the recording in progress and discards its temporary
audio. Use it only when you do not need to keep that recording.

1. While the automatically started recording runs, click **Stop & Ignore** in
   the main window's toolbar.
2. To allow the app again later, open **Settings…** (⌘,) › **Call Detection** ›
   **Ignored apps** and remove it from the list.

**Your result:** Call Detection no longer starts recordings for that app until
you remove it from the ignored list. Other apps can still trigger it.
