What happens on battery power

The work after a call ends, the transcript and the speakers and the summary, is the part that uses your Mac hardest. On battery, Recordstead can park that work until you plug in. The recording itself is never affected, and a parked meeting is already saved.

What a held meeting looks like

Nothing notifies you, because waiting is a state and not an event. Four places say it instead:

The banner at the top of Home's Processing card, which also says how many meetings are waiting and what will release them.
The meeting's row in Meetings, which gives the reason on one line.
The meeting's own steps, where the step that stopped says what it is waiting for.
The menu-bar panel, while the main window is closed.

The five reasons work waits

Your Mac is on battery, under the strictest rung of the rule below.
The battery is below 20%, under the rule's default rung.
Low Power Mode is on. This one holds even while you are plugged in, on the grounds that you asked the whole system to do less.
Your Mac is running hot. This holds whatever the rule says, and on a desktop too.
Your meetings are locked. This outranks the other four and is the only one you cannot override. Quit and reopen Recordstead to unlock them.

Each ends by itself: plug in, let the Mac cool, turn Low Power Mode off, and the queue starts moving again with nothing to press.

Choose what happens on battery

Open Settings and go to General. From Home's banner, the Change… link takes you straight there.
Under On battery, pick one of three:
- Write up right away, which never waits for power.
- Wait if the battery is low, marked Recommended and chosen for you. It waits only below 20%.
- Wait for power, which waits whenever you are not plugged in.

On a Mac with no internal battery there is nothing to decide, and the whole group is absent.

Write up a held meeting now

On the meeting's steps, or on its row on Home's Processing card, press Write Up Now.
To release everything waiting in the workspace you are in, press Write Up All Now on the banner.

Either one answers the meetings you pressed it for, once. The rule itself is untouched, so the next meeting waits again. A meeting held before it has a transcript offers Transcribe rather than the override, and a locked vault offers no button at all.

Result

The banner is gone from Home's Processing card, and the meetings that were waiting finish on their own.

What a hold never touches

Recording is never held. Neither is Call Detection: a missed meeting costs more than the power it saves, so it keeps watching whatever the rule says.

A step that has already started finishes. Recordstead only checks the rule before it starts a meeting and between steps, never in the middle of one, so a transcription running when you unplug runs to the end.
