Change automatic update settings

Both update options start on. You can stop automatic checks entirely or keep checks while choosing when a new build downloads.

  1. Open Settings… (⌘,) › General › Software Update.
  2. Turn off Check for updates automatically if you want to check only when you ask. Or leave it on and turn off Download and install automatically: Recordstead will still show an offered build, but wait for you to start its download.

Your result: background updates follow your choice. The manual Check for updates control works regardless of these switches.
