Teach Recordstead your terminology
Transcription mishears the words it has never heard: a colleague's name, a product, an internal acronym. A Dictionary term tells it which spelling you want, and it is applied to everything transcribed from then on.
Add a term
Section titled “Add a term”- In the main window, go to Dictionary.
- Click the plus button under the list. A panel opens on the right.
- Under Term, type the spelling you want into Correct form. It is The spelling that appears in transcripts and summaries.
- Under Recognized As, type the spellings transcription actually produces, One spelling per line. Each is replaced by the term above. Add as many as you keep seeing.
- Press Add Term.
A term also arrives here on its own when you fix a word in a meeting and keep the fix: Correct a word the transcript got wrong.
Find a term, and change it
Section titled “Find a term, and change it”The Filter terms field above the list narrows what is on screen by the term or by any of its spellings. It is not the meetings search; it only looks at this list.
To change one, select it and edit the panel, or right-click the row and choose Edit…. Save stays unavailable until something actually differs. The table's Recognized as column shows each term's spellings, so you can see what is covered without opening anything.
Pause a term, or delete it
Section titled “Pause a term, or delete it”Pause this term keeps the term and stops applying it, and the row dims. The panel says which state you are in: Applied to future transcripts. against Kept, but not applied to future transcripts. Resume this term puts it back. Like every other edit in the panel, pausing takes effect when you press Save.
Delete Term removes it for good. The confirmation says what that means: Future transcripts will no longer use this rule. Existing corrected transcripts will not change.
Result
Section titled “Result”The term is in the list, and the next recording you transcribe uses the spelling you chose, in the transcript and in the summary written from it.
Terms reach future transcripts only
Section titled “Terms reach future transcripts only”Nothing already transcribed changes. Adding, pausing or deleting a term does not rewrite a meeting you already have, and it does not rewrite a summary; to fix an existing meeting, correct it there instead.
Terms belong to one workspace, along with the meetings and the people in it: What a workspace separates.
Matching is literal and whole-word. A spelling is replaced where it appears as a word of its own, so a term never rewrites the middle of a longer word, and a spelling you did not list is not guessed at.
