Find the version you are running
Recordstead shows its version in two places, and they answer slightly different questions. This page is about finding it; how a newer build reaches you is on the release notes page.
Read the full version
Section titled “Read the full version”- Open Settings… (⌘,).
- Select Advanced.
- Under About, read the Version row.
The value looks like this:
0.6.0-beta.1 (a1b2c3d)The first part is the version. The value in brackets is the exact build it was made from, which is what tells two builds of the same version apart. Build Date sits directly underneath. Both rows are selectable, so you can copy them.
The shorter answer
Section titled “The shorter answer”If you are using Recordstead on an invitation, Settings › Invitation ends with a Limited test section that shows the same Version on its own, without the build in brackets.
Result
Section titled “Result”You have a version string you can paste into an email.
When you write to support
Section titled “When you write to support”Quote the version, and say what you expected to happen. Support does not need the build value unless it asks for it.
